What would make this world into a Utopia?
Giving Tree Stomach Pits.
Why?
I believe a utopic society requires people who are actively working against greed to make selfless, benevolent choices for the health of said utopia. I invision the “Giving Tree Stomach Pit” to be a large seed that, when swallowed by given organism, sprouts a tree-like symbiote which roots itself into the nervous systems of said organism. This symbiote would feed on neurons transporting greed signals located in the brain’s synapses, and excrete neurons carrying generosity signals through a process called “moralsynthesis”. Alternatively, the “Giving Tree Stomach Pit” can be planted into the ground, where, once matured, it will begin producing spores. If inhaled, these spores will temporarily provide similar cognitive effects as it would if the “Giving Tree Stomach Pit” were ingested. Side effects of the “Giving Tree Stomach Pit” include feelings of limitless kindness, generosity, and selflessness. Adverse affects such as forgetting one’s own needs may arise, but are less common among communities in which all members have ingested the “Giving Tree Stomach Pit”.
